The Global South is a term generally used to refer to countries and regions that are considered less economically developed or less industrialized compared to the wealthier nations of the Global North. It consists of low-development countries in Africa, Latin America, Asia, and Oceania and refers to countries and regions characterized by lower income levels. The concept is used to highlight inequalities between countries and to draw attention to the needs of the regions.
