Humanitarian intervention is defined as the use of military force by a state or international organization to stop or prevent serious human rights violations in a country by violating the sovereignty of another state. These interventions are carried out in response to situations such as ethnic cleansing, genocide, mass human rights violations. In addition, humanitarian intervention is often justified by the international community on humanitarian grounds.
